HISTORY

It all started in 1994 when a family from Marseille decided to supply the supply companies by offering them fresh food for their long-haul journey. One thing leading to another, SOMEXPORT will feed cruise lines, the French Navy and then launch into the French Overseas Territories.

In 2005, Robert PETITJEAN bought SOMEXPORT and decided to give it an international twist with the desire to be present on 5 continents in the next 10 years.
In 2006, Robert took a strategic turn in developing his export offering. Initially, dairy products were 'the cash cow' of SOMEXPORT but Robert now wants to offer a more varied offering to his customers with the presentation of cold cuts and ambient products.

Africa will be the first continent where SOMEXPORT will enter with numerous partnerships.

In 2008, SOMEXPORT joined a new network, Gral Grancoeur, an independent GIE that allows it to access around a hundred European producers.
In 2012, South East Asia will be the 3rd continent where SOMEXPORT will establish itself with several partnerships in Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Laos.
SOMEXPORT continues its intense sourcing work with local producers in order to be as close as possible to its customers.

The development of the range of frozen products will allow SOMEXPORT to diversify its offering and respond to a wider customer base.

In 2019, Robert supported the creation of Africalink.

Thanks to the synergy movements offered by this new network, SOMEXPORT is increasing its interactions with African territories.
During the Covid pandemic, teams adapted to a new work organization. SOMEXPORT is participating in a virtual trade fair in Taiwan, which allows us to access this new market.

In 2023, SOMEXPORT responds and adapts to new requests for customers specializing in online sales.

In 2024, for its thirtieth anniversary, SOMEXPORT is entering the Australian market.
